Rosso Polare is an experimental duo born in Milan, composed of Cesare Lopopolo and Anna Vezzosi who combined ideas and built a peculiar musical language, based on a blend of field recording, call and response improvisation and audio manipulation.
Their music is centered on the search for counter-narratives concerning the representation of the animal world, applying the philosophy of antispecism to sound, striving to normalize the levels between man-made music and natural biophony.
They released their debut “Animal Letters” in 2020 for the Moscow-based label and collective Klammklang, followed by “Cani Lenti”, via Cafe Oto’s in-house label “Takuroku” and reissued by ADN Records.
They have performed in festivals and venues in Italy and Europe, including Météo – Mulhouse Music Festival (Mulhouse), Cafe Oto (London), Klang (Rome), Bååfest (Milan), BAO (Brescia).
Together, Rosso Polare and Raffale Greco cultivate fertile land of common sharing for an interaction. A series of actions between performance and sound, theater, act and staging develop in a multidisciplinary encounter.
